If you look closely you can see the photo is credited to “Neon Windbreaker” because they seem to have taken a photo without any help.
Now Magazine is one of those, or perhaps I should say the ONLY one of those publications in Toronto, which chooses to NOT credit photographers showcased in their magazine. I asked an art director why this was and she said “Photographers are pieces of shit. We credit writers. Writers create art whereas a photographer is anyone who owns a decent cell phone”.
That’s not a direct quote, but paraphrased using rage.
Hahaha! So true. Got published in the major style supplement of the biggest broadsheet in the country (The Irish Times) & they didn’t credit me. “Editor’s discretion” apparently.
